Our Veterinarians

Dr. Mira Rogers
Dr. Mira Rogers

Dr. Rogers received her veterinary degree from the prestigious Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences and brings more than 20 years of experience to the True Companion team.

Dr. Rogers is a talented diagnostician and internist and her favorite part of veterinary medicine is solving the “diagnostic puzzle” of a complicated medical problem. In addition to primary care, she handles complex medical cases, performs advanced imaging and enjoys dentistry. She is a true advocate of the human animal bond and her very long list of long-term clients can attest to her commitment to excellent care.

Dr. Rogers is married to her loving, handsome husband Ray. She is an avid traveler and loves to hike and spend time in her garden. She also has a very naughty dog named Crash (pictured above) who sometimes forgets his manners, but is adorable and loved, nonetheless.

Dr. Yvette Pedroza
Dr. Yvette Pedroza

Dr. Pedroza graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and brings a tremendous amount of clinical experience to the True Companion team.

Dr. Pedroza is a general practitioner but  also expresses enthusiasm for surgery. She enjoys soft tissue surgery and  has a passion for dental procedures. She is a champion for pet oral healthcare and has hopes to specialize in dentistry in her future.  Dr. Pedroza also manages complex medical cases, performs advanced diagnostics and provides preventative care services.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Pedroza loves spending time with her husband and darling daughter.  Her home wouldn’t be complete without the companionship of her two cats and two dogs! Dr. Pedroza is an avid runner, a great chef, enjoys hiking, camping, beach days, and the Woodlands Waterway scene!

Dr. Malmquist
Dr. Stephanie Malmquist

Medical Director

Dr. Malmquist graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences with distinction where she also served as the student-faculty liaison and founded the Student One Health Association for the college.

Dr. Malmquist brings more than a decade of clinical experience to True Companion and is an accomplished general practitioner who also manages complex medical cases, complicated dermatologic cases and allergies and enjoys dentistry.  Dr. Malmquist has a special interest in dermatology and often considers specializing in dermatology, but knows she’d miss general practice too much to commit!

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Malmquist is an entrepreneur who is heavily involved with the pet product industry where she has founded and served as CEO of several companies, developed a certification program and serves as a well-respected consultant and advisor for multiple brands.  Dr. Malmquist and her husband live in The Woodlands with their 3 precious children, 2 dogs, 2 bunnies and one very spoiled cat. She loves to cook, paint and to take her kiddos on new adventures!

OUR STAFF

The support staff of a veterinary hospital is the backbone of the organization. These people have dedicated their careers and their lives to the care of animals.

Our Management

Meet our dedicated and experienced veterinary practice manager, who ensures the smooth operation of our clinic and the highest level of care for our animal patients.

Kaila
Kaila

Kaila is our Practice Manager and joined the True Companion family officially in 2013.

She earned a high school internship at TCAH…and the rest was history. Kaila has obtained a variety of different experiences in vet med but returned to True Companion due to the quality medicine and doctor focus on the human-animal bond. She prides herself in elevating her team and being there for the patients and clients when in need. She loves helping with (naughty) feline patients, as her pride and joy, Moose, is a spicy kitty herself.

When not at work, Kaila can be found reading personal development books in her hammock with her two dogs (Harvey and Macey), cuddling with Moose, or diligently studying for her pursuit of vet school.

OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES

Let’s begin with the first people you will see when you enter the clinic. The customer service representative’s primary job is to serve you with a smile. They strive to make your visit as smooth and pleasant as possible!

Jolene
Jolene

Jolene joined the True Companion family in March 2018.

Jolene was born and raised in Houston and has lived in the area for many years. She came to us after working many years in the home building industry. She was looking for something a lot more fun and a little less stressful, and luckily she found that with us! She’s married to her high school sweetheart, Jason, and together they have two amazing kids, Dillan and Breanna. They also have 2 fur babies, Dixie who is a Catahoula mix, (AKA “mama girl”), and Gunnar, who is the perfect example of a Pit Bull; cuddly and goofy! Her family and pups are her entire world. She loves helping people and seeing them happy.

Fun Fact: Jolene has been known to light up a Karaoke Night!

OUR VETERINARY TECHNICIANS

Veterinary technicians are the nurses of the veterinary team. They provide compassionate care for sick and hospitalized animals and are educated about common pet healthcare issues. You will meet them in the exam rooms and can trust that they are taking good care of your pets behind the scenes.

Abigail
Abigail

Abigail joined the True Companion team in 2014.

She can be seen in various roles around the hospital, but loves working with puppies and instantly adores any Dachshund that walks through the door!! She can often be found taking care of ICU patients and managing hospitalized pets or you may see her in the exam rooms at your appointment. Abby also serves as the radiation safety officer in the hospital, which helps to keep us all safe!

When not at work, Abby enjoys kayak fishing, cooking and camping with her husband and family. Together they have 3 lovely Dapple Dachshunds named Dixie, Copper and Bonnet.

Fun Fact: Abby has an impressive knowledge of every O.P.I. nail polish color that has ever been made.

Morgan
Morgan

Morgan joined the True Companion family in 2018!

Morgan joined the True Companion Team in May 2018! Morgan is passionate about her work as a veterinary technician, and finds joy in continuing to learn new things every day about veterinary medicine and caring for companion animals! You’ll find her in the exam rooms or assisting in surgical procedures here in the hospital. Morgan spends her free time reading and relaxing with the two loves of her life: a couch potato Staffy named Little Lady, and Steven the blind Whippet.

Fun Fact: Morgan loves to attend Broadway musicals and often sings show tunes (but only by herself)!

Carlie
Carlie

Carlie joined the True Companion family in May 2019.

Carlie is currently finishing her undergraduate studies at Sam Houston State University with a degree in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. After having, loving, and losing her precious TomTom to hip dysplasia, Carlie’s interest in Orthopedic Surgery was born and that is what she aspires to do. As a Veterinary Assistant, she treats our boarding guests as though they were her own and she helps the technicians and doctors behind the scenes. At home, she loves her boyfriend’s two Australian Shepherds, Korra and Kane, and her two chihuahuas, Honey and Mojo. She is at her happiest around her fur babies and hopes to grow her little family by adding a Sphynx cat and Labrador someday.

Fun Fact: Carlie’s dream job was originally to be a mermaid, but after some deeper thought and lack of an appropriate uniform (i.e. gills and a tail) she focused on her love for animals instead.

kat
Kat

Kat joined the True Companion family in December 2018!

Kat always knew she wanted to work with animals. When she found herself working in the veterinary field, she realized she enjoyed helping clients feel right at home better than handling needles. She found the best of both worlds here with us! Her favorite dog breed is the Border Collie and in her spare time, she can be found at the nail salon pampering herself. She is also a makeup expert and loves trying new beauty products. Kat will always greet you with a friendly smile and make your experience here warm and pleasant. While most clients are used to seeing her smiling face at the front desk, she has transitioned to performing and learning more technician skills!

Fun Fact: Kathryn has an amazing voice and loves to sing!
