Dr. Pedroza graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 and brings a tremendous amount of clinical experience to the True Companion team.

Dr. Pedroza is a general practitioner but  also expresses enthusiasm for surgery. She enjoys soft tissue surgery and  has a passion for dental procedures. She is a champion for pet oral healthcare and has hopes to specialize in dentistry in her future.  Dr. Pedroza also manages complex medical cases, performs advanced diagnostics and provides preventative care services.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Pedroza loves spending time with her husband and darling daughter.  Her home wouldn’t be complete without the companionship of her two cats and two dogs! Dr. Pedroza is an avid runner, a great chef, enjoys hiking, camping, beach days, and the Woodlands Waterway scene!

Dr. Malmquist
Dr. Stephanie Malmquist

Medical Director

Dr. Malmquist graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences with distinction where she also served as the student-faculty liaison and founded the Student One Health Association for the college.

Dr. Malmquist brings more than a decade of clinical experience to True Companion and is an accomplished general practitioner who also manages complex medical cases, complicated dermatologic cases and allergies and enjoys dentistry.  Dr. Malmquist has a special interest in dermatology and often considers specializing in dermatology, but knows she’d miss general practice too much to commit!

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Malmquist is an entrepreneur who is heavily involved with the pet product industry where she has founded and served as CEO of several companies, developed a certification program and serves as a well-respected consultant and advisor for multiple brands.  Dr. Malmquist and her husband live in The Woodlands with their 3 precious children, 2 dogs, 2 bunnies and one very spoiled cat. She loves to cook, paint and to take her kiddos on new adventures!

Dr. Madison Ritchie
Dr. Madison Ritchie

Dr. Ritchie graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She was involved in many activities both in and out of school, including volunteering in her community.

Dr. Ritchie loves all aspects of general practice. Her own pets have inspired her interests in surgery, dentistry, eye and skin conditions. Her favorite part about practice is supporting the bond between pets and owners.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Ritchie enjoys spending time with her husband and multitude of pets. There is never a quiet moment in her household of dogs, cats, birds, horses, and goats. She loves to cook, craft, garden, and spend time at the beach

Angela MacFarlane
Dr. Angela MacFarlane, DVM

Dr Angela MacFarlane graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. While in school she had an interest in surgery and decided to participate in a rotating small animal internship at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Austin, TX to see if pursing board certification was in her future. However, after completing the internship, another 3 – 4 years in a residency program was not in her future. She decided to join general practice and practiced from 2006 to 2018 in the Woodlands area. In 2018 she decided to leave general practice to pursue a career in emergency medicine which she loved the fast-paced energy and excitement. There was something missing her veterinary life that she had not done and in September of 2021, Dr MacFarlane joined Lone Star College’s Department of Veterinary Technology where she was the Program Veterinarian and quickly became the Program Director. During this time, she continued practicing emergency medicine as a relief veterinarian. While she enjoyed teaching very much, she missed practicing medicine and decided to rejoin practicing medicine full time by joining True Companion Animal Hospital in July 2025. Dr. MacFarlane continues to have her interest/love of surgery but she also enjoys internal medicine cases and following her patients care for the long run.

Dr MacFarlane is married to her high school sweetheart, Rob. They have two children, a son who will be going off to college much sooner than she is ready and a daughter who is not far behind him. She currently has 2 adult labs, a lab puppy (whom she loves dearly but is wondering why she went crazy and agreed to a third lab), 2 Heinz 57 dogs, and a cat. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and binge watching TV shows.

Our Management

Meet our dedicated and experienced veterinary practice manager, who ensures the smooth operation of our clinic and the highest level of care for our animal patients.

Dyan
Dyan Thompson, LVT
Dyan Thompson joined True Companion Animal Hospital in March 2025 as our Practice Manager. She has been in veterinary medicine for many years and has worn many hats in the hospitals she has worked at. From working as a kennel assistant to a bather in the grooming department onto receptionist. That is when she realized she wanted more and to become a licensed veterinary technician. Dyan went to the Vet Tech Institute of Houston and graduated in 2012. She has worked in general practice as a surgical technician, as well as assisting all areas of the clinics she has been a part of. She has been a lead technician, and it is no surprise that she moved up into a management position. Dyan has also worked in emergency medicine and loved the unknown of what may come in but as the years went on, she realized she wanted more time at home.

Dyan’s passions in the hospital are to lead her team with compassion and support them in their needs and growth. She has a strange obsession with dentistry and even has a jar of teeth from the patients that have had extractions (for educational purposes of course). Dyan will take the time to talk to anyone and everyone she can, and it is easy to fall in love with her.

When not at True Companion she is with her family including her husband, daughter and 2 boys. They are always on the go with one adventure or another. Dyan and her family spend much of their time at a ball field with the boy’s playing baseball, her and her husband playing coed softball or at an Astros game. She loves being outside in the sun and just living in the moment.
